God Led Business | God Intersections

Finding God’s Blessings

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

One of the great joys of what I do (following the God Intersections like Mr. McGoo offering to help business people) is that I get to meet many very cool people thus creating opportunities for God to show up and share His truth.

One of those Intersections was last week when I spent a couple of hours with a new client (Andrew Pinch of www.dandlpress.com ) for our first coaching session.  Andrew was sharing his goals, challenges and vision for the future, basic questions I discuss with all of my clients, when God showed up (or more specifically a God Idea showed up).  We were talking about the reason Andrew’s grandfather had started D & L Press 50 years ago and how the consistent application of that purpose had produced the company that stands today (they grew 80% last year).

Why is this Stewardship Thing so Hard???

Friday, March 5th, 2010

This has been an amazing week of God Intersections for me.  My normal “vital activity” every week is to meet with three God Intersections.  The purpose of those meetings is to simply hear where folks are at (everyone has a story), model what God is doing in my life and find out how I can help.  This week I’ve had over 15 intersections (a record) all around a fairly common theme.  That theme is “my business (or life) is NOT working very well”.

You want me to Build a Community???

Friday, November 13th, 2009

My last blog discussed how to prosper in this “New Economy”.  I put forward a simple 4 step process for doing just that.  Step 2, Form Communities, has caused the most interesting string of thinking and dialogue.  The main question is “How the heck do I Form a Community?”.

Let’s start with my definition of Community.  Community is a group of relationships that choose to gather around a particular passion, God-calling, idea or offering for the purpose of sharing life and values.  Community is completely voluntary with each member contributing as much or as little as they desire. God’s Multiplication in my Business

Friday, October 9th, 2009

As many of you know, I started a business last year to help business owners trust God with their businesses and lives. The idea is to facilitate small groups of business owners to encourage one another, build authentic relationships and improve our bottom line(s). We call these groups Leadership Productivity Forum’s (LPF).

In the early days of LPF God made it clear (yes God talks to me, mostly through my thoughts) that my primary goal is to SERVE the business owners He Intersects me with. He set out several additional guidelines. They included:

  1. Serve First
  2. Relationships are more important than profit
  3. No Sales Calls with the intent of “closing the sale”
  4. God would tell me when I could charge for my services
  5. Look for His Intersections daily

Corrosive Competition and Running a God-Led Business???

Monday, August 24th, 2009

As I’ve pondered my responsibilities as the Chief Steward of Godintersections.com and Leadership Productivity Forum’s in the East Valley of Phoenix, the question of competing for business came up.  Years ago I was given a copy of “The Death of Competition” by James Moore.  I could never get my arms around the idea of the actual death of competition.  But if competition is not going away then what is my responsibility in life and business where I compete regularly?  And how does the concept of Serving First, Profit Second fit in here (a Godintersection.com core value)?  I used to think that if I following God close enough I would never loose (had to give that one up years ago).

Whose Business is it Anyway?

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

We all have a choice as to whether we believe in something bigger than ourselves, something other than self or NOT. I call this living in something bigger “God” but you can choose your own word. If you don’t believe in God then you can probably stop reading now.

If you do believe in God, are you willing to turn over “the outcome” of your business and life to this God? If not, again you can probably stop reading. But before you bail, how is this believing in God but maintaining personal responsibility for the outcome working for you anyway? If it isn’t working KEEP READING.
